🇪🇺 SURVIVE Project International Meeting in Bologna, Italy 🇮🇹 | June 15–18, 2025
We’re proud to share the highlights of our recent SURVIVE project meeting in Bologna, Italy, coordinated by YouNet and supported by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme (CERV) of the European Union.
During this powerful and productive gathering, partner organizations from Italy 🇮🇹, Latvia 🇱🇻, Romania 🇷🇴, and Poland 🇵🇱 came together to take important steps forward in our mission to shed light on the untold stories of women and children’s resilience during World War II.
💡 Key Activities During the Meeting:
📚 International Training of Trainers:
We hosted an intensive training on two key educational tools used in the project:
🕊️ Commemoration Day – Bombing of Bologna, 1944:
On June 16, we honored the memory of the victims of the 1944 bombing of Bologna with a commemorative event, connecting past and present through remembrance and dialogue.
🧳 3D Scanning of WWII Objects:
Using cutting-edge technology, partner organisation from Poland scanned personal and historical object linked to WWII civilian life in Bologna. This will soon be transformed into interactive 3D model, helping to preserve memory and engage future generations.
🎥 Next Steps:
We are working to collect video testimonies and continue building the digital archive of stories and artifacts—offering an innovative way to teach, remember, and reflect on Europe’s shared history.
💬 The SURVIVE project continues to promote remembrance through non-formal learning, fostering empathy, awareness and critical thinking among young people and communities.
