EURODESK Training Course in Jūrmala, Latvia

European Association “World-Our Home” is Eurodesk Info-point in Rezekne, Latgale from 2023. This year from 20-21 February 2025 project coordinator Dace Deksne from European Association “World-Our Home” participated in EURODESK Training Course in Jūrmala, Latvia. This training course was designed to equip youth workers, educators and professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide high-quality information services to young people. The training focused on enhancing participants’ understanding of European opportunities in education, mobility, volunteering and employment.

During the training participants planed Eurodesk events in schools in the spring of 2025 and the Eurodesk network’s 35th anniversary celebrations (European national dishes cooking for young people).
During the training participants promoted practical knowledge and competences about Eurodesk Euroclasses modules for promoting participation (“Euro-participation” and “Euro-activism”); learned about the broader project “Signal Elections” (org. “European Movement in Latvia”), which aims to promote the participation of 16-17 year old youth in the organization of signal elections for young people before the local elections in May. Participants also visited Jurmala Youth House in Kauguri and were inspired by the experience stories of network organizations.
Participants gained practical skills to better inform and guide young people about European opportunities, strengthening their role as EURODESK multipliers. The training also fostered cross-border cooperation among youth professionals, improving the overall effectiveness of the EURODESK network.
