Our ESC Volunteers at Meteņi in Rēzekne!

This year on 15th February 2026, our ESC volunteers actively joined the Meteņi celebrations in Rēzekne! They made masks, helped organize various activities, and ensured the festival was fun for both children and adults.

But what exactly are Meteņi?

Meteņi is a Latvian tradition that marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The celebration is full of masks, songs, games, and communal fun – a time to drive away winter’s fatigue and welcome the new, life-filled season.

Our young volunteers added even more color and joy to Meteņi with their energy and creativity!
