
European Association “World-Our Home” activities are supported by Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission, within the framework of Erasmus + program.
Summarizing the results of the work of European Association “World-Our Home” in 2025, we must say that the organization has been very active this year, the projects have been implemented, the activities have been organized for young people and youth workers, the organization has strengthened its capacity and formed the strategic activity, as well as promoted the European awareness, solidarity and international cooperation among young people.
The organization is located in Rezekne, and it has been working in the field of youth and culture at the European level for 26 years, during this time many local and European projects have been implemented for the inhabitants of Rezekne, Latvia and Europe.
Some of the main tasks of the organization are to promote the integration of Latvian youth into the united Europe, to develop young people’s skills and competences, to promote personal and professional growth, as well as to develop European awareness.
European voluntary work through European Solidarity Corps programme, European youth projects, online and face-to-face seminars, conferences, non-formal education and experience exchange events were implemented in 2025 with the support of Erasmus + program of the European Commission and within the framework of the “Youth Code” project. In addition, the organization offered the opportunity to learn foreign languages, gave the information about European programs and EU Youth Strategy and Youth policy. EA “World-Our Home” is one of the most active implementers of European youth projects in Latvia.
In 2025 EA “World-Our Home” implemented various European projects:
– In January the representatives from European Association “World-Our Home” participated in the On-Arrival training course for new volunteers and their mentors in Ādaži, Latvia.
– In January Youth Forum was organized in Rezekne to look back on what has been accomplished during the year 2024 and European Association “World-Our Home” was awarded the Honorary Nomination “The Driving Force of Youth in the City of Rezekne”!!! We are really proud of it!
– In February European Association “World-Our Home” representatives participated in the EURODESK Training Course in Jūrmala, Latvia. European Association “World-Our Home” is Eurodesk Info-point in Rezekne, Latgale from 2023.
-In March our volunteer Bursa organized Macrame workshop for Rezekne active young people, and our volunteers Deniz from Turkey, Seda and Hripsime from Armenia presented their culture for local inhabitants.
-In March European Association “World-Our Home” as the international partner started the new project “SURVIVE: Stories of Women and Children’s Resilience in World War II”, a project under the Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values program (CERV) , funded by the European Union. Coorinating organisation is YouNet from Italy.
-In April European Association “World-Our Home” started Erasmus + KA2 project “Youth-Centered Digital Society” to equip young people and youth workers with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital age. Project will last 19 months till 05.11.2026.
-In April European Association “World-Our Home” together with Eurodesk Latvia, celebrated Eurodesk’s 35th anniversary with a vibrant event in Līvāni, at the MJIC “Kvartāls.”
– In April European Association “World-Our Home” participated in the Erasmus+ project “Wear the Future” in the Czech Republic” to raise awareness about ethical fashion and provide youth workers with the tools to fight over consumption and educate young people on the harm of the “affordable” fast fashion.
– In May European Association “World-Our Home” celebrated European Day. In cooperation with East Latvian Creative service center “Zeimuls”, we celebrated this day by informing young people about European opportunities, European values and non-formal education.
– In May European Association “World-Our Home” participated in Open-air event: THE NATIONS’ PICNIC! The event kicked off with a multicultural concert featuring talented performers from Latvian, Latgalian, Polish, Slavic and Armenian backgrounds.
-In May European Association “World-Our Home” organized informative seminar on European opportunities for local young people. Seminar focused on two flagship EU initiatives: the Erasmus+ programme and the European Solidarity Corps (ESC).
-In May European Association “World-Our Home” organized the international Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Youth – Centered Digital Society”. Youth leaders and representatives from Turkey, Italy, and Latvia have gathered in Rezekne to launch this important project focused on empowering young people in the digital age.
– In June European Association “World-Our Home” organized Erasmus + Seminar “Cultural Synergy and Psychology”. This unique international event brought together 35 participants from 10 European countries – Estonia, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Croatia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Latvia – to explore how psychology and cultural exchange can be powerful tools in creating empathetic, connected communities.
– In June 2 representatives from EA “World-Our Home” participated in “SURVIVE” Project International Meeting in Bologna, Italy. During this gathering, the partner organizations from Italy, Latvia, Romania and Poland came together to take important steps forward in our mission to shed light on the untold stories of women and children’s resilience during World War II.
– In July European Association “World-Our Home” started the Erasmus + Youth exchange project “SYNERGY 2” in Makašāni, Rezekne district, Latvia. 36 young people from Latvia, Spain, Czechia, North Macedonia participated in the project to spend 10 unforgettable days, share ideas, learn from each other, cross cultural borders and pour their talents into one united goal – creating a powerful short film that reflects our shared energy, passion and friendship.
– In August European Association “World-Our Home” participated in International Youth Day where we invited visitors to learn more about Erasmus+ programme, European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and various opportunities for young people. People had a chance to talk to our amazing volunteers from different European countries. One of the most popular activities was the face painting – the children were absolutely delighted with the chance to have their faces painted!
– In August European Association “World-Our Home” participated in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project “REVOLUTION” where 37 young people from six countries came together to explore how love can be a force for social transformation.
– In August five active youth leaders from European Association “World-Our Home” finished their Toolkit which was started in the Erasmus + Training course “Wear the Future” in the Czech Republic. https://worldatourhome.com/index.php/2025/08/25/training-course-wear-the-future-toolkit/
– In August six representatives from European Association “World-Our Home” and two participants from Hungarian organisation Youth Bridges Budapest participated in the Erasmus+ Study visit “Building Bridges: Exploring Youth Work in Hungary”. The programme gathered youth workers and professionals in Budapest to explore Hungarian practices in youth work, share experiences and strengthen cross-border cooperation.
– In September European Association “World-Our Home” and our volunteer Büşra Uzunkoca from Turkey took part in Rezekne City celebration of the Knowledge Day!
– In September participants of the European Association “World-Our Home” took part in the Commemoration event organized as a part of the project “SURVIVE: Stories of Women and Children’s Resilience in World War II”. This event was organized in Wroclaw and Będzin in Poland.
– In September European Association “World-Our Home” participated in the Informal discussion event “Coffee with Politicians”.
– In October European Association “World-Our Home” took part in Erasmus+ Day, which was held at the Eastern Latvia Creative Services Center “Zeimuļs” in Rēzekne. During the event, we shared our experiences from Erasmus+ projects implemented in 2025, as well as learned about the achievements and ideas of other organizations and educational institutions.

-In October European Association “World-Our Home” participated in European People Festival Pre-meeting in Bad Segeberg in Germany. Our organization is European People Festival network member since 2005.
– In November European Association “World-Our Home” organized the Erasmus+ Seminar “Youth for Active European Citizenship”. 35 youth workers, youth leaders from 8 European countries — Latvia, Italy, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Greece, Bulgaria and Croatia participated in this project in Rezekne, Latvia.
– In November three of our volunteers Deniz Can, Seda Isunts, Busra Uzunkoca finished their European Solidarity Corps Volunteering projects in Rezekne. They spent almost 12 months doing volunteering work in Rezekne Social Center, Pre-school “Namiņš” and in EA “World-Our Home” office.
– In November our Latvian participant Atis Krebss returned from a short-term volunteering project, where he spent two months in Portugal. The European Association “World-Our Home” was his sending organization.
– In November another event took place as a part of the European Union CERV project “SURVIVE: Stories of Women and Children’s Resilience in World War II” project. This time, the event was held in Brașov, Romania and was focused on commemorating the suffering endured by the Jews of Transylvania during World War II.
-In December we sent our volunteer from Latvia to participate in the Long-term European Volunteering project in Greece.
-In December European Association “World-Our Home” organized the project Final conference for local inhabitants.
In 2025 EA “World-Our Home” organized the statutory meetings and the general assembly to discuss the work plan for 2025 and 2026 and to plan the common projects.
In 2025 the organization EA WOH coordinated the voluntary work projects in the European Solidarity Corps programme. 11 young European volunteers from Turkey, Italy, Armenia, Georgia worked in Rezekne in 2025. These young people worked in various Rezekne organizations: EA “World-Our Home” office, as well as Rezekne Pensioners’ Day Center, Rezekne Multifunctional center with disabled people and Pre-school educational institution “Namiņš”.
The organization EA WOH is also a sending organization to the Voluntary work projects of the European Solidarity Corps programme. This year 3 young people from Latvia were sent to the voluntary work project in Greece and Portugal.
In 2025 a lot of work was done to organize successfully the local events and activities such as language courses, Open days in EA WOH, the workshops in cooperation with the Eastern Latvia Creative Services Center “Zeimuls” and other stakeholders, “European Day”, “Erasmus+ Days”, International Youth Day and other activities were organized.
In 2025 EA “World-Our Home” continued to work as Eurodesk information center in Rezekne, Latgale, Latvia.
This year EA “World-Our Home” organized and focused on various activities for young people in order to promote intergenerational fairness – increased solidarity and engagement between people of different ages and a better understanding of each other. In 2025 we also focused on activities to promote European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025, emphasizing the need for citizens to actively and responsibly participate in the digital world.
Thank you to everyone who is interested and are active in youth work, the “Erasmus +” program, European languages, who participates in our local and international youth non-formal education projects. We would also like to thank our local and international partners and members for their continued collaboration across many projects and activities.
