A spirit of curiosity and togetherness filled the air as a group of young people in Rēzekne gathered to celebrate European Day in an interesting and engaging event focused on unity, cultural awareness and active citizenship. On 9th May EA “World-Our Home” celebrated European Day with vibrant enthusiasm and youth participation. In cooperation with East Latvian Creative service center “Zeimuls”, we celebrated this day by informing young people about European opportunities, European values and non-formal education.
The event aimed to highlight the values of the European Union through creative workshops, games and discussions. Young participants engaged in interactive activities such as making video, team building activities and presentations about the future of Europe and the role of young people in shaping it. A special focus was placed on values such as democracy, inclusion and cooperation-cornerstones of the European Union.
“This celebration helped us learn more about Europe and each other in a fun and informal way,” said one participant. “It was a great reminder that even small events can have a big impact when they bring people together.”
European Day celebration in Rēzekne proved that even a small group of motivated young people can create a meaningful experience-one that promotes European values, builds community and inspires active engagement in shaping a better future.
