Youth Voice on Climate Emergency
On May 16th, we gathered at Centro Sociale Montanari in Italy, Bologna for an impactful conference under our DOCC (Don’t Call it Change) project. This event brought together passionate voices and organizations dedicated to addressing the climate crisis.

Lower Silesia Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations Dolnośląska Federacja Organizacji Pozarządowych
Speakers: Aneta Parzoń and Patrycja Wnuczek from DFOP, a Polish organization supporting over 200 NGOs, shared their experience in fostering collaboration and empowerment among non-governmental organizations. DFOP has been instrumental in developing materials for workshops that address the intersection of climate emergency and human rights.
Mare Nostrum NGO Ong Mare Nostrum
Speaker: Lavinia Voiculescu from Mare Nostrum NGO, a Romanian organization, highlighted their commitment to marine and coastal biodiversity conservation. Mare Nostrum’s initiatives include Black Sea dolphin monitoring and community engagement projects promoting green spaces and household waste recycling.
Organization Earth Οργάνωση Γη-Organization Earth
Speaker: Evi Pavlakou from Organization Earth, a Greek NGO, discussed their urban transformation initiatives aimed at achieving climate neutrality. They emphasized the importance of active-learning programs and nature-based solutions such as green roofs and pocket parks.
European Association “World-Our Home” European Association “World-Our Home” / Pasaule mūsu mājas, Rēzekne
Speaker: Iveta Graudina from this Latvian organization shared their efforts in promoting European active citizenship and multiculturalism. Their work includes various youth exchanges, seminars, and training programs aimed at fostering European integration and cooperation.
Project JETforCE Città metropolitana di Bologna
Speaker: Nicolò Fontana, the Digital Ambassador of JETforCE, presented the Digital Challenge Mapping Tool, an innovative platform that collects testimonies related to the energy transition, promoting community awareness and action.
Greenpeace Greenpeace Gruppo Locale di Bologna
Speaker: Matteo Balasso from Greenpeace Local Group Bologna shared insights into their non-violent, science-based campaigns against climate change, pollution, and deforestation. Their global network of passionate volunteers collaborates with local communities to drive environmental change.
After the presentations and speeches from the speakers and hosts, participants engaged in a dynamic World Café session. The interactive activity allowed attendees to delve into various important topics related to climate action and youth engagement.
Together, we amplified youth voices and engaged in meaningful conversations on the climate crisis.
