Today, 1 October 2026, European Association “World – Our Home” organised a Local Multiplier Meeting in Latvia in the framework of Erasmus + KA2 project “Youth Centered Digital Society”, bringing together 29 participants to explore important questions about young people, digital life, wellbeing and digital citizenship.
The meeting was facilitated by Mafalda Garcia from Portugal and conducted in English, creating an international and multidisciplinary learning environment.
This topic about Digital citizenship is especially timely in Latvia this week, as the 15th Saeima elections are taking place this week.
Being a digital citizen means more than simply using technology. It also involves developing the ability to navigate the digital environment responsibly, evaluate information critically, communicate respectfully, protect personal data and participate responsibly in society.
For young people, these skills are increasingly important. Digital wellbeing and digital citizenship are closely connected: young people need not only to understand the challenges of digital life, but also to feel confident and responsible when engaging with the digital world.
Most importantly, we hope that the knowledge and tools shared today will reach even more young people and professionals, contributing to a more aware, confident, healthy and productive young generation.
A big thank you to all participants and to our facilitator Mafalda Garcia for contributing to this meaningful meeting!
Together, let’s build a digital environment where young people can understand, participate, connect and thrive.
