On 7 October, the European Association “World-Our Home” organised an inspiring Urban Trekking activity in Rēzekne with young people from Rēzekne State Polish Gymnasium, as part of the CERV project Survive: Stories of Women and Children’s Resilience in World War II.
The Urban Trekking was created and organised using the Actionbound application, turning the city into an interactive learning space. Through their mobile phones, participants followed a specially prepared route, discovered relevant places in Rēzekne, explored historical stories and completed interactive tasks and challenges.

During the Urban Trekking, the young participants got to know many places in Rēzekne connected to the Second World War and discovered the stories and events linked to these places. The interactive journey encouraged them to look at the city from a new perspective and learn more about its history and the people who experienced the war.
The activity included:
Introduction to the CERV and SURVIVE project,
Getting familiar with the Actionbound application,
An interactive Urban Trekking journey through Rēzekne,
Discovering stories connected to women’s and children’s resilience during WWII,
Reflection and discussion: What have we learned? What will we carry with us?
Q&A and sharing impressions
It was not only a journey through the streets of Rēzekne, but also a journey through memory, history and human resilience. By connecting young people with local places and personal stories, we encouraged them to reflect on the importance of remembering the past and learning from it.
A big thank you to all the young people from Rēzekne State Polish Gymnasium for their enthusiasm, curiosity and active participation!
Together, we discover the stories of the past and carry their lessons into the future.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme.
