Volunteer from Ukraine in Rezekne

Mariia Pakhomova from 23.05.2022. started to work as a volunteer in Rezekne State City Council Administration “Social Service”, coordinating organisation European Association “World-Our Home”. Mariia participates in European Comission, programme – European Solidarity Corps project. Mariia is the first volunteer in EA “World-Our Home” who participates in the new Erasmus + programme period 2021-2027 ESC accreditation project Nr. 2021-2-LV02-ESC51-VTJ-000044990.

What she says about herself:

Let me introduce myself! I am Mariia and I am from Ukraine. I have recently finished my Master’s degree. I always think that volunteering is a nice opportunity not only to help people but also check your own skills and knowledge.It is a kind of challenge that I like so much. I have been in Rezekne for less than a month now and have a great impression. Rezekne is a city of contrasts. Here you can find modern buildings and ruins of the castle. Although the city is small but extremely lively. Everyone will find something to do according to their taste. And the most importantly, despite the cold weather, the people here are friendly and supportive.
