This year on 15th February 2026, our ESC volunteers actively joined the Mete\u0146i celebrations in R\u0113zekne! \"\ud83c\udf1e\" They made masks, helped organize various activities, and ensured the festival was fun for both children and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what exactly are Mete\u0146i? \"\ud83c\udf3e\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mete\u0146i is a Latvian tradition that marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The celebration is full of masks, songs, games, and communal fun \u2013 a time to drive away winter\u2019s fatigue and welcome the new, life-filled season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our young volunteers added even more color and joy to Mete\u0146i with their energy and creativity! \"\ud83d\udc9b\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
